Williamsburg International FC season opener
Williamsburg International Football Club season opener @ McCarran Park Brooklyn recap
Games played on March 10, 2024
Editors note: (For the duration of the season, I will not be focused on any specific match or game details for this season. I will mainly focus on a general recap of each game played by the four teams. My goal is to dig deeper and go beyond the game; anybody can do your average game coverage. My passion for storytelling takes on a different view of my goal. This season highlights the individual players that make up the strong organization and how their lives influence not only their style of play but also their connection to the game that many of these talented players share.)
It feels good to be back on the pitch finally. I’ve had the March 10 season opener game circled on my calendar for the past couple of weeks. Although the swirling clouds and the gloomy sky presented a challenge, lousy weather never stood a chance against die hard lovers of soccer. While at McCarran Park in Brooklyn, New York, the WIFC first and second teams had very competitive matches against Brooklyn City FC. There were many bright moments and well-placed passes, which initiated an excellent offensive flow generally; both teams ended the games feeling good about what the season has in store for the club. For some sports fans, winning and losing is what matters most them, however for me, having the opportunity to follow this team and organization throughout the season, it is more meaningful to witness the growth of each individual and how they all connect on the soccer field every week together I understand some people reading these articles that I will produce May I ask the question Tyrese tell us more about the game? Who scored goals? In response to any criticism on how I structured my articles, I would ask what a team sport boils down to. Any individual player can have a good moment, but it is the other members of the team that allow that person to do so, whether it be with an excellent pass-clearing space so they can dribble or be the much-needed voice in the huddle that everybody follows with this being said, I hope everyone can find interest in my articles as I highlight the individual challenge that makes up the Williamsburg International FC organization this will be a fun exciting and colorful season and I’m glad to be able to document everything as we move along.
stay tuned as the next article /team profile will focus on Williamsburg International FC manager Jason Roos
